Mackenzie Douthit of ‘Teen Mom 3′ recently opened up about the day she was diagnosed diabetic in her new fitness blog. Mackenzie explains that as a child she had trouble learning because of her unknown illness and it wasn’t until her teen years that she found out about it.
“I probably made the worst grades out of any grade-schooler around me. My brain just did not function how it was supposed to (due to being an undiagnosed Diabetic) and I hated the fact that all my teachers begged my mom to put me on all this medicine saying I needed it because I was slow. They literally had me convinced I was mentally-challenged even though my Mom knew it had to be something else.“
The day that Mackenzie was finally diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes was on her sister’s birthday after drinking 6 glasses of soda during dinner her mother curiously decided to check her sugar levels. Mackenzie’s father is diabetic also so they were able to easily check. When the test revealed Mac’s sugar level was high her mother feared the worst.
“She was pale and I could tell she wanted to cry. She grabbed my hand and took me to the hospital only to find out my blood sugar was 698 and I would have to live the rest of my life taking shots to stay alive. OK….WORST DAY OF MY LIFE, AND WORST BIRTHDAY PRESENT TO MY POOR SISTER. “
Mackenzie now has her diabetes under control and has started a fitness blog to talk about eating and exercising so she can perhaps help others lead a healthy lifestyle.
Sad news for ‘Teen Mom 2′ fans, Leah Calvert has decided to no longer take part in the show, most likely due to the broken state of her marriage to second husband Jeremy Calvert.
Leah confirmed via Twitter that she will not go on to a season 6 of the show. An insider tells The Ashley’s Reality Roundup that Leah is scarred of airing another divorce on television because of the terrible backlash she has gotten from the first one. Sources also say that the show will go on with just the three remaining girls, Chelsea, Jenelle and Kailyn.
@PBandJenelley_1 @Kt_OhSoHoMo @[email protected] exactly. I hope my girls continue to move on with TM2. 😊 I wish them the BEST xoxo

No premiere date has been set for ‘Teen Mom 2′ Season 6 but my guess is that it will air next year after the new season of the original ‘Teen Mom’ show.
UPDATE: It’s now being reported that Leah’s real reason for leaving the show is because she’s in real danger of loosing custody of her twin daughters Ali and Aleeah. The footage from the show is making Leah look bad according to an insider and Leah is “ready to leave her reality TV life behind.”
Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra have announced they are releasing their book “Conquering Chaos” on March 15th 2015!
Here is the book’s description from Post Hill Press, found on Amazon.com (where you can pre-order it by the way!): “Since Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra shared their story of teen pregnancy and adoption on the MTV’s 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom, they’ve been known for their inspiring commitment to growing up right. Between their experience placing their first daughter for adoption, and their struggle to cope with problems in their families, Catelynn and Tyler were challenged in every imaginable way. But against all odds, the childhood sweethearts rose above the dysfunction to become responsible adults whose story has inspired many others.
How did two troublemaking kids from the trailer park make it through the storm of family dysfunction, teen pregnancy, and adoption without letting go of each other? What gave them the strength to conquer the chaos of their lives and go on to become people their children could be proud of? And what really happened when the cameras weren’t there?
Now, in their debut book, Catelynn and Tyler tell the story in their own words…and they leave nothing out. From the wild behavior that went down before MTV to their experiences learning and teaching about adoption, Catelynn and Tyler lay it all out on the table. Open, honest, raw, and real, Conquering Chaos is an incredible look at two young people who beat the odds and used their victories to give hope to others“

Jenelle Evans of ‘Teen Mom 2′ was recently called out by former ‘Teen Mom 3′ star Briana Dejesus for a negative article about Briana and her boyfriend which was posted to Jenelle Evans’ ‘Teen Mom’ gossip site, Teen Mom Truth. (Whether or not the site actually ever contains “truth” is debatable.)
The post was about Briana’s boyfriend posting some distastful photos to his Twitter account. Which isn’t surprising considering some of the things I’ve seen Briana post in the past. When Briana saw the article she lashed out at Jenelle stating, “B—h U don’t even have custody of UR 1st kid! U have horrible judgment urself so keep UR comments to urself,” Briana tweeted-and-deleted according to Wetpaint.com and then added, “I hate this crack head girl always tryna make money off of me.”
Jenelle Evans admits that she is not even the one writing the articles for the website and had no idea any of this was even going on. “I made fun of some TM3 chick? Uhm.. When? What’s her name again?” Jenelle then added, “I didn’t write that. I have two people that run my accounts online besides myself.“
Do you think that Jenelle should take responsibility for what is posted to her ‘Teen Mom’ website if she is profiting from it financially?
Amber Portwood of ‘Teen Mom’ and Kailyn Lowry of ‘Teen Mom 2′ recently teamed up for a duel book tour. The pair had only met once before so they barely knew one another before hitting the road together. I had the opportunity to catch up with Amber and see what she thought of working with Kailyn for the tour. This is what she had to say:
“Kailyn was great we had a good time together and got to know each other on a deeper level. She’s very sweet and I do consider her a friend.”
Kail had already done several book signings for her New York Times Best Selling memoir, “Pride Over Pity.” However this was Amber’s first time doing signings for her brand new memoir, “Never Too Late.” So how did the tour go overall for Amber? She says, “It went pretty well! The first day was a bit rocky but the rest of the week went smoothly. It was amazing meeting my fans face to face they help me more than they know.“
I also asked Amber if she had any plans to write another book any time soon. I was delighted to find out that she just might write another book, just probably not for a while. “Honestly I’m not sure as of now, however I probably will in the next 5 to 10 years.“
Let me know what you thought of both Amber and Kailyn’s books in the comments below! If you haven’t already make sure you pick up a copy of “Never Too Late,” HERE. And “Pride Over Pity,” HERE.
Exciting news! It’s finally been confirmed that the original MTV show ‘Teen Mom’ is returning for a new season! Us Weekly is exclusively reporting that the show is in fact coming back in 2015.
The ladies are very excited to be sharing their lives on ‘Teen Mom’ once again. Maci tells the magazine, “My family and I are in such a new and interesting place in our lives. I feel like I have grown up so much since the last time that I filmed anything for TV, so it will be very interesting to show viewers how our lives have evolved.“
Catelynn Lowell is also excited to show her new pregnancy in the upcoming season, “I feel like documenting this pregnancy is totally different, because now it’s our time to be parents… Tyler and I have always done the show to help people, now people can see what it will be like to juggle the responsibilities of taking care of our new baby while navigating our relationship with Carly and her adoptive parents“
Amber Portwood will also return to document her life after prison as she enrolls in school and rebuilds her life. Farrah Abraham will not be returning.
How much of Reality TV is actually reality? Well honestly after following this show for the past few years I can tell you it’s not very much. The girls of ‘Teen Mom’ usually say that the show represents their daily lives and their stories pretty well but consider the source, they are getting paid bank by MTV so it’s kind of important to them that you watch the show.
The 16 & Pregnant girls that don’t move on to other shows are usually more open about some of the “fake” things on the show. Several girls have come forward over the years explaining that MTV wanted there to be drama, and that a lot of scenes were completely staged.
Season 5 girl Aleah LeBeouf answered questions about her episode on ask.fm after the show aired and revealed (what we all pretty much knew already) that a lot of the conversations are staged. A fan asked “Does MTV tell you what to say in some circumstances?” to which she replied “To an extent- you do have to discuss the back history that you guys didn’t see” Aleah also revealed that she sometimes had to change her clothes to make it look like it was a different day while filming.
Another behind the scenes fun fact is that apparently the 16 & Pregnant girls were expected to do their own hair and makeup for the reunion special in NYC. According to Aleah the staff only did “touch ups” on the girls.
I’m sure it’s been a long time since Amber has really gotten to talk to her ‘Teen Mom’ co-stars so it’s really cool to see them reconnecting now that Amber is partaking in social media. When a fan tweeted a photo of meeting Amber and Maci in Times Square (back in the days of Teen Mom) Maci replied saying “oh my gah i remember this! xo” and Amber also replied saying “That was so long ago! We had fun that night though <3“
The two chatted about a funny experience with a bike taxi and said that they missed each other! Awwwwwe. “we’ll be seeing each other again! Sending love <3” Amber tweeted. Does she mean when Teen Mom returns?? Well lets hope!
‘Teen Mom 2′ star Leah Calvert recently had to have a minor surgery which she kept quiet about until right before. On Tuesday March 18th Leah tweeted, “I’m getting my wisdom teeth out like in 15 min and I’m freaking out!” She reached out to co-star Chelsea (our favorite Dentist’s daughter) for support. “I need some encouraging words please @ChelseaHouska is it bad???” Chels then replied “Ahhhh my cheeks got. HUUGE but other than that it wasn’t bad!“
Today Leah shared a photo of her puffed out chipmunk cheeks stating that it “has been the worst pain ever!!!” Awe poor dear! Hopefully she will have a speedy recovery!
In last night’s episode of ‘Teen Mom 2′ Leah is complaining to her husband yet again about him having to go to work. When he tells her that he’s gotta do what he’s gotta do and doesn’t baby her about it she suggests they go to counseling. (Because Jeremy is just not being understanding enough about her having to be alone in their beautiful house with her beautiful children. She doesn’t even have a job to “escape” to! Poor her!)
Jeremy wisely pointed out that Leah knew exactly what his job was when they got married and that she should have thought about that before saying “I do.” That really got her mad and she then tells him to “man up.” I don’t know how much more he can man up for her. He works a difficult and dangerous job to pay for everything they have including taking care of two children that are not his. There are a lot of women who would LOVE to have a man to take care of them the way Jeremy takes care of Leah. Not only that but Leah also has a ton of support from family and friends. She’s pretty much always got a baby sitter when she needs one so it’s even more ridiculous when she tells him that she is like a single mom.
In the aftershow interview about this particular scene Leah goes on and on about how Jeremy doesn’t show a sensitive side because he thinks it will make him less of a man. Which Jeremy has never even said. The whole time he is looking at her like ‘woman why are you saying these things?’ but he keeps quiet and lets Leah think what she wants about it. She just tells him he needs to work on expressing his feelings.
Personally I think he expressed them pretty well when he slapped her in the face with bacon… (Just kidding, that was totally mean but I think I get why he is like that now!)
